Magic Kingdom Parking lot and Tram lanes to the TTC Walt Disney World most iconic and oldest theme park, The Magic Kingdom sits a good distance away from its parking lot. After driving a few miles across Disney Property along one of the large highways that originate from off ramps at the interstate or US 192 you come to a Toll Plaza like configuration, which is where you pay for your ticket to park at the Magic Kingdom parking lot, or show your annual pass, or show your parking pass from your Disney hotel if you are stying at one of thier resorts. You then follow the lanes to the parking lot where the attendents direct you to your space. The parking lots at all of the Walt Disney World Theme parks are set up so that none of the spots are more than about 200 yards (and most spots far less) from special lanes set up to take guests from that massive lot to either a spot near the park gates, or, in the case of the Magic Kingdom, the Ticket and Transportation Center, at the Ticket and Tansportation center, once you stop at the Ticket booths (or pass by them if you already have your admission media) you will enter a large plaza, in front of you are ramps leading up to the monorail station, and off to your left is a lake and a ferrryboat landing, across the lake you can get a glimpse of the spires of Space Mountain AND Cinderellas castle, at this point you can board a ferry to cross the lagoon that way, or get on the "Express Loop" of the monorail which encircles that same lake that is know as the Seven Seas Lagoon, if you take the monorial you WILL have that experiance that SO MANY of us knew from watching the Wonderful World of Disney all those years as a kid, the experiance of passing through the lobby of that massive concrete A-Frame hotel know as the Contemporary Resort Hotel, before finally stopping at the Magic Kingdom station to disembark from the monorail. The photo above shows the tram lanes as they pass beneath a viaduct under a road. The Road above that tramway takes guests headed to the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, or Polynesian Village resort . In the distance a monorail appears to be entering the station on the express loop, and this photo was taken FROM a monorail that was heading TO the Ticket and Transpotation Center FROM Epcot. Corinthia Atlantic Hotel This is the Corinthia Atlantic hotel were we stayed - great location in Banjul far from the tourist compounds up the coast. The rooms were nice enough - clean, comfy, pretty but not luxurious. The hotel halls were decorated with lots of local art which was nice. They had tennis courts, swimming pool, large beach (although few people used it or seemed to leave the hotel), fitness and aerobics studio, spa - essentially all mod cons. Right outside our room was a mini bird forest so we were woken up early every morning with their singing. But we tried to spend as little time at the resort as possible, it's just not our thing.
